Patient Summary - Interactive Chart Tab

Patient Summary Chart Tab

There is an interactive Patient Summary Chart Tab available when in a patient’s charts. This is a summary chart tab that is used as a quick reference to view modules in a summary format for a patient.

You can have the Interactive Summary Chart Tab named what you wish. Most practices call it Summary, others call it Details, or Facesheet, etc.

When logged into Enterprise Health , go into the patient’s chart you wish to view or work in.

To view the Patient Summary tab, click that specific chart tab when in the patient’s chart (your Enterprise Health summary tab may be named something different as specified above.)

When you click on the Patient Summary tab, you will see a quick reference to view modules in a summary format for that patient. These can be any modules that your company specifies they wish to be able to display.

Modules/Sections

The sections/modules that show in the Patient Summary tab are called portlets. You can show/hide any portlet and this only affects your view and no other logged in user. You can arrange and customize the Patient Summary tab to be in the order and layout that you wish.

To see all the portlets (sections) available for view, click Select Portlets link at the top right when you are in the Patient Summary tab.

The Available Portlets option window will open on your computer screen.

Your Enterprise Health system may have different section (portlet) choices than the screenshot above. Your practice can request other Enterprise Health modules/tabs to be part of this Patient Summary tab section selection. Contact your MIE Implementer.

You can checkmark or uncheck-mark any sections you wish to show or not display in the Patient Summary tab. The changes and selections you make only affect your username & your view. They do not affect any other users. Once you make changes and click SAVE, those modules will display then on the Patient Summary tab view until you make other changes. They apply to this Patient Summary tab, not to individual patient charts.

In the Patient Summary tab, the module (sections) have icons that perform certain functions. These are located at the top right corner of each section/module. If you hover your computer mouse over each, it will show you what each function icon does.

Ex: Hover the computer mouse over the + icon and it tells you this is the icon to click to ‘move’ that section/module.

Columns

You can specify the number of columns you wish to arrange and view the Patient Summary tab with.

We recommend 2 columns, but up to 4 columns are available.

To change the amount of columns, simply click Select Portlets link in this Patient Summary tab.

When the available sections screen opens, select the number of columns you wish from the drop-down (also checkmark or uncheck-mark any sections/modules you wish to view or take off at this time if you want). Then click the SAVE button at the bottom.

Your computer screen will refresh and you will see the Patient Summary tab again, but with the amount of columns you selected. It does not automatically move and rearrange the selected modules/sections into these columns. All of them may still be in one column and you would need to drag and drop those sections/modules into the other column(s) on your view.

The screenshot below shows that we wanted to change my Patient Summary tab to 4 columns. It kept the modules/sections in the columns we had set previously, but has now made the 4th column for us to move modules/sections into. Now that the 4 columns are showing, you need to move the modules with your computer mouse into the number of columns you selected by using the drag and drop method.

Moving Modules/Sections

You can move modules (sections) into other columns or into a different order within the same column by using your computer mouse and the drag & drop method. This changes the order in which you see the summary modules on your computer screen.

To move a section/module when in the Patient Summary tab, simply click & hold your mouse on the move icon and drag & drop it where you want it to appear. You can drag it to a different column also if you have your column selection chose to 2 or more columns. Or, you can move sections/modules into a different arrangement order in the any column.

Below shows section Due List being moved from column 2 to column 4:

Click Move icon, hold it and drag & drop it into column 4.

Now the Due List section is showing in column 4 (because we moved it). This will remain this way for my viewing for my Patient Summary tab view until I make another change.

Continue to move modules/sections by clicking the move icon, holding & drag/drop that section into a different viewing order or into a different column.

When you initially view this tab (new to this tab), all your portlets in this tab show in ONE column. After you select your column choice and set yourself to (for example) 2 columns, the computer doesn’t know what you want where in those 2 columns.  It will still keep those portlets showing in the ONE column on your view, but the 2nd column is there, it’s blank and open for you to ‘move’ portlets over to that column. You now have to arrange your view according to what you want.  It keeps all portlets in the one main column—it will not automatically rearrange them into columns. It just opens those extra columns for you to move sections/portlets to.  Now you move & drag and arrange them into the other open columns. You have to MOVE your portlets to show in those 2 columns according to your arrangement preference.

On the portlets on the left column that you want to move to the right 2nd column—simply click your mouse on the ‘move’ button and don’t let go of the mouse click—you have to hold and drag.  So, click on the move button—hold the mouse down and the category (portlet) will turn red border and then drag it with your mouse (while still holding down on the click) and drag it to the right side.

When a portlet is not configured correctly, the alert no longer shows. It will simply not be moveable.

Set Portlets Based on Security Role

You can setup the portlets/modules in the Patient Summary interactive chart tab display for users according to their security role. You must have security permission to Save Portlets as Default to be able to see this and perform this.

Be0dc23d6b252f5288193b4238e72dea

From the Patient Summary chart tab, click Select Portlets link.

E90d7459de8c221bb6fd5a75b019810b

Click the drop-down in Save as default for to select the specific security role you want to set this tab’s portlet views for or you can do entire system wide and select -System Default- and everyone will have these portlets open for this tab system wide that you set.

F9de5a070678e1d8d669bef5331fabc5

Once selected the security role or system default system wide, then set the columns and checkmark which portlets to display for the users when they get into the Patient Summary tab.  Then click the SAVE button.

Continue doing the same steps for another security role to set up their view of the Patient Summary tab or you can override and make changes to the one you just set up also by selecting the same security role you just did and edit the checkmarks and click SAVE.
